Morphological Image Processing

Dilation and Erosion Concept: Morphological Image Processing is based on the concept of set theory and is typically applied to binary images (recent operations on gray scale/monochrome images as well). Based on the two major set theory operations : Reflection and Translation come the two important operations of morphological image processing.
